This week saw the Junior Club Championship contested here at Sundridge Park. 13 juniors took to the East Course to compete for the trophy. The course was playing long due to the time of year but the good weather provided the perfect backdrop. 

A gross 76 saw Ellis Cameron win the overall Junior Club Championship (scratch) while Saul Gudge won the Temple Cup for the best nett score for the round. 

A number of other trophies were presented for the different age categories. 

Novice Cup (U13 Nett) - Louie Cameron 
Brooke Cup (14/15 Years Nett) - Johnny Eades 
Hoeck Jnr (U16 Nett) - George Moore 
Hoeck Snr (Over 16 Scratch) - Ronnie Quick 

It was a great way to end what has been a great year for the juniors.


 

A very steady 36pts took the top prize in the Joyce Fowler Foursomes for winners Bassey Dunbar & Kim Morris with Sandra Nadin & Rose Yazdani shooting 32 pts to take the runners-up spot. The representatives in the Daily Mail Foursome next year will be Lyn Baimbridge & Christine Edgar.


Saturday night saw the Lady Captain's Swansong event - more than 150 people attended this great evening - The Gatsby theme for the night made for a relaxed feel to the night and some great photos at the Gatsby Photo booth - the evening was a fitting tribute to Elaine's Captaincy year and Elaine was delighted to present a cheque for £18,200 to her chosen charity of the year - Marlborough School. 

Well done Elaine and congratulations on a fantastic year.

A star-studded field has assembled in Shanghai this week to do battle for the WGC-HSBC Champions. Russell Knox is defending champion at Sheshan International GC. The WGC-HSBC Champions is the last World Golf Championship event of 2016 and an impressive field has turned out to try and take the title. 42 of the world's top-50 players will tee it up and all four of the year's Major winners are set to play. The HSBC Champions began life in 2005 as a regular European Tour event but, in 2009, it was elevated to World Golf Championship status.
