A beautiful part of the world
This week marks the fifth edition of the tri-sanctioned AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open between the European, Sunshine and Asian Tours, but just the third time the event will be staged at The Heritage Course. Last year, Kurt Kitayama gained the first European Tour win of his career with a two-stroke victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at Four Seasons, but won't be returning to defend his title. Players to watch:
Thomas Pieters: Teeing up for the first time in this event after a T6 at the DP World Tour Championship, which was Pieters' fourth top 10 of 2019 (including a victory at the D+D Real Czech Masters). It followed a T17 at the Turkish Airlines Open and T30 at the Nedbank. Thomas Detry: With two top 10s in his last four starts Detry is on a good run, and is also making his debut here this week. Despite coming close on several occasions this season, still looking for his first win on the European Tour. Romain Langasque: Finished T23 in this contest last year and 3rd in 2017 when it was held at the Heritage Course, making him a great player to keep your eye on this week. The Frenchman is still searching for his maiden European Tour win, recently finishing T9 at the Turkish Airlines Open before a T30 at the Nedbank and DP World Tour Championship win in Dubai.
